STORYLINE:

The 31st FISU Summer World University Games will take place in Chengdu in southwest China's Sichuan Province between July 28 and August 8, featuring a total of 18 sports.

Mehmet Gunay, president of the Turkish University Sports Federation, said that China is expected to make further contributions to world sport by hosting the Summer Universiade.

"We see that China has been quite successful in sports in recent years. It is important for us to congratulate China in this sense, especially to get support from these achievements and to cooperate with them.

Gunay also emphasized China's past success in blending different cultures in sports games and took the Chengdu Universiade as another opportunity to deepen cultural exchanges.
