An NHS doctor has gone viral on TikTok revealing five ways we can all beat hay fever this summer – without taking medication.

The GP, who goes by Doctor Sooj on social media, shared a video explaining the key things we can all do to combat what, for many of us, is the biggest downfall of the summer months.

In the clip, which has garnered 94,000 views and thousands of likes, Doctor Sooj, 31, explained the clever tips.

He says: “Since we’re approaching the summer months, here are five things that you can do to improve your symptoms of hay fever – and the last one has really helped me.

“Put Vaseline around your nostrils and just under your eyes to try and trap some pollen.

“Wear wrap-around sunglasses to stop pollen getting into your eyes.

“Keep your windows and door shut as much as possible.

“Vacuum regularly and dust with a damp cloth.

“Finally, buy a pollen filter for the air vents in your car.”

The GP, who has been a doctor for eight years, revealed why he shares his tips online.

“My ultimate aim has been to try and alleviate some of the burden on the NHS, whilst also enjoying the process,” Doctor Sooj, from Hertfordshire, told NeedToKnow.co.uk.

“A single video of mine can reach millions of people and hopefully help to effect a change in some people's health-seeking behaviours.

“I have also enjoyed debunking medical myths and explaining interesting phenomena about the human body.”
