The 31st International University Sports Federation (FISU) Summer World University Games will take place in Chengdu, southwest China's Sichuan Province between July 28 and August 8.
Antonio Dima, president of Italian Federation of University Sport, said that he believes the Chengdu Universiade will be a huge success and create new history for the Games.
He made the remarks at a reception hosted last week for the Italian delegation by the Chinese embassy in Rome.

"I've been at two Universiades myself, 2001 in Beijing and 2011 in Shenzhen. The organization was first-level. So I'm convinced that Chengdu will surprise us again and it will be a great event."
Italy has announced a delegation of about 300 members, making it one of the largest delegations from Europe to the Games.

"Having said that, beyond the medals, beyond the gold, silver and bronze medals, for us, those invisible medals are very important too.
