A mind-boggling celestial spectacle has left residents in China awe-struck as they witnessed a captivating "two suns" phenomenon.

Incredible video filmed in Yibin City in Sichuan Province on July 7, shows two radiant red suns seemingly hovering amidst the clouds.

According to Zhou Enping, an associate professor at Huazhong University of Science and Technology, there was indeed only one sun illuminating the sky that day. He dismissed the notion of a sun dog phenomenon, as suggested by some internet users.

Professor Zhou clarified that this optical illusion of twin suns is relatively common and can be attributed to the image-processing algorithms employed by modern smartphones.
