A Just Stop Oil activist was knocked over to the ground and kicked by an angry motorist following a crash in Earls Court, London, on July 19.

Dramatic footage captured on Cromwell Road shows a Mercedes and a van stopping after colliding. The couple driving the Mercedes immediately exit their car and confront the eco-activists.

The man shouts "F***ing idiot" as he appears to throw a punch at the activist. He then pushes them to the ground before seemingly kicking them.

The victim was Daniel Knorr, 21, a student from Oxford who was carried off the pitch at Lord's by England cricketer Jonny Bairstow on June 28.

A group of activists then come to then intervene and a bystander takes his coat off seemingly wanting to confront the man.

Newsflare's filmer said: "The police came over to the protesters after they heard about the assault, and the protester said he didn't want to press charges.

"The police were also unaware of the car crash!

The Metropolitan Police released a statement on Twitter: "Officers were on scene responding to 9 JSO #protesters walking slowly in Kensington Gore at 08.03hrs.

"They issued a Section 12 condition immediately to move off the carriageway, which was complied with."
