Colorado Parks and Wildlife officials rescued a cute bear cub trapped in a massive dumpster near Denver, Colorado, USA. The incident took place before Tuesday (July 18).

The scared cub was seen growling nervously as rescuers created a makeshift ladder for its escape. After climbing out using mattress springs as the ladder, the cub reunited with its mother. The heartwarming rescue occurred over the weekend, and authorities remind people not to use open dumpsters for food trash to keep bears safe.

In a statement from the Colorado Parks and Wildlife Service on Tuesday, July 18, said that: "This cub went searching for trash and got stuck. Fortunately, our wildlife officers and Douglas County deputies sprang into action, setting up ladders to facilitate its escape. Once free, the cub reunited with its mother. A heartwarming conclusion for this bear family, but the situation could have been rubbish. Don’t use open dumpsters, like this one, for food trash! Help keep our bears safe!"
