A driverless three-wheeler launched a sudden rampage into multiple vehicles due to a rain-triggered electrical malfunction in eastern China.

CCTV footage filmed in the city of Fuyang in Anhui Province on July 13 shows an electric three-wheeler suddenly being launched and careening headlong into the non-motorised vehicle lane.

The shocking scene grew even more so when the vehicle continued its reckless course, scraping against, then smashing into, a line of parked cars. The relentless rampage of the unmanned vehicle came to a halt only after it had collided with no fewer than six vehicles parked in its path.

Upon investigation, it was revealed that the owner of the electric three-wheeler had parked it to shelter from the rain, but made a grave error - they left the power on.

It is speculated that the heavy rainfall might have caused an electrical malfunction, which in turn sparked this unexpected driverless mishap.

Authorities in Fuyang, upon reviewing the incident, have laid the responsibility squarely on the three-wheeler owner, citing their negligence in failing to turn off the vehicle's power as the root cause of this unusual traffic accident.
