A Russian Su-25 fighter jet crashed into the Sea of Azov during a training exercise on July 17.

Various clips show the moment the aircraft plummeted into the sea. The footage appears to show the pilot ejecting and pulling their parachute before drifting down to the water's surface.

According to state-run news agency Ria Novosti, the jet crashed following an engine failure.

The officials from Russia's Krasnodar region said the pilot had been retrieved from the sea, but the state news agency TASS later said he had died.
