Officials conduct rescue operations in flooded Gir Somnath, Gujarat, India

Officials of the National Disaster Response Force were engaged in conducting rescue operations after a massive flood hit western India's Gujarat. This incident happened in Gir Somnath district of the state on July 19.

Visuals obtained from the rescue operations show the NDRF officials putting their best foot forward in saving the people who have been trapped in floods. They put life jackets on those who were rescued and ferried them over to safer areas with the help of their life boats. Several areas in the whole district were heavily flooded but the NDRF teams braved these challenges to help rescue the stranded people.

According to a report, six NDRF teams were actively engaged in rescue operations and were able to save a total of 590 people, out of which 195 were males, 185 females and 210 children.
