A motorist's dashcam captured the moment he veered off-road after suffering a stroke whilst behind the wheel in Cromford, Derby.

Captured in September 2022 the footage mount the roundabout before crashing head-on into a bush.

The vehicle eventually came to a standstill in the middle of the road.

The driver told Newsflare: "I went to work feeling 100 per cent. A few hours later, I picked up a lovely couple to go home.

"Sadly a few minutes after we departed I suddenly felt ill, as if my sugar levels fell to zero, and I'm not diabetic. The next stage came the numbness on my right side - I couldn't move my arm or worse thing, I couldn't take my foot off the gas pedal so we slowly sped up to 40mph.

"Then in my semi-conscious state, I did my best to avoid collisions. Eventually, we came to a stop, my passengers were ok, asking if I was ok, and other motorists came to help.

"As the stroke progressed I was unable to speak. Minutes later medics arrived and took me to the hospital, asking me what's my name, what was wrong etc."
