A drainage pipe terrifyingly detached from an overpass, narrowly missing a potentially fatal strike on a passing motorist in southern China.

Aftermath video filmed in the city of Xiamen in Fujian Province on July 18 shows a pipe impaling straight through a car's sunroof and into the driver's cabin.

According to reports, the pipe scraped past the motorist's head, leaving him miraculously unscathed and alive, despite the substantial damage to his vehicle.

An official response from the local traffic police reported that units were dispatched to the scene promptly following the accident. Officers worked swiftly to divert traffic away from the incident, effectively avoiding any further injuries or potential vehicular damage.

Thankfully, despite the harrowing nature of the event, no casualties or injuries were reported, according to the local authorities. As of now, the incident is still under investigation, with the specific cause yet to be determined. The question of compensation for the affected motorist is also currently being addressed.
