The tornado uprooted 32 trees and damaged 9 houses in the city of Padang, IndonesiaPadang, Indonesia
a tornado hit the city of Padang, Indonesia, Sunday (23 July 2023).
As a result of the tornado, 32 large trees were reported to have fallen in a number of areas which damaged houses, cut electricity and obstructed road access.
Head of the Emergency and Logistics Division for the Padang City Regional Disaster Management Agency, Albana said, "The average fallen tree is a protective tree with an average length of 18-20 meters and a diameter of approximately 80 cm to 120 cm," In addition to the fallen trees, the Padang City Government also noted that nine residents' houses were damaged.
"There were no casualties, but losses amounted to hundreds of millions of rupiah," Albana said.
