A Boeing 747 cabin was stuck under a bridge while it was being transported on a truck in Thailand.

The dismantled fuselage of the iconic plane was being delivered to a new owner when the jet's body was snagged on a bridge on the outskirts of Bangkok at around midnight on July 22.

A truck carrying the aircraft had exceeded the height clearance by 15 centimetres. It clogged several lanes on the road while the driver waited for help to come.

Amid heavy rain, a crane was deployed to carefully dislodge the fuselage without damaging it. The object was then re-adjusted to be lower on the truck's trailer. The delivery of the plane parts resumed after an hour.

Local media reported that the parts had come from Rayong province and were being delivered by 12 trucks to be assembled at Prachuap Khiri Khan province, where it will be used as a restaurant.

The first seven trucks had passed through the road without issue before the fuselage was stuck under the bridge.

The last Boeing 747 - known as the Queen of the Skies - was produced on December 6, 2022, and was delivered to Atlas Air on January 31, 2023. This marked the end of a 54-year production run for the iconic 'jumbo jet'.
