Coast Guard rescues passenger, 43, suffering heat stroke on oil tanker in Louisiana, USA
The US Coast Guard rescued a woman suffering heat stroke on an oil tanker in Louisiana on Friday.
Coast Guard Sector Houston-Galveston watchstanders received a call from a man aboard a boat saying his wife, 43, was displaying signs of heat stroke at around 3 pm on July 21.
Watchstanders sent out a broadcast, and a nearby vessel, the Stolt Perseverance, arrived and took the heat-stricken passenger onboard. She was given medical attention by a physician while waiting for the airlift.
Coast Guard Air Station Houston MH-65 Dolphin helicopter crew later arrived to pick up the woman. She was taken to the Chennault Airport then transported to the local hospital in a stable condition.
