A blaze erupted at the Shandan Great Buddha Temple, a National 4A (the second highest level) Class Tourist Spot in northwestern China.

The video was filmed in Shandan County in Gansu Province on July 24.

Swift action was taken by local authorities to tackle the fierce flames. According to on-the-ground personnel, the fire was largely extinguished by approximately 10:00 am.

The Shandan Great Buddha Temple, steeped in over 1500 years of history, sits 5 kilometres west of Shandan County Town, at the foot of Liaogao Mountain.

It was initially constructed during the Northern Wei Dynasty, dating back to 425 AD. This historical gem has experienced multiple damage and destruction throughout its extensive history.

山丹大佛寺位于山丹县城西5公里处的瞭高山脚下，始建于北魏（公元425年），距今1500多年，历史上曾经历多次损毁。
