An attractive young market seller has online star thanks to her good looks.

Janejira Wangkukiat, 22, runs a small business selling dried galangal - a native root crop similar to ginger - which she opened five years ago in Nakhon Pathom province, Thailand.

Many customers told her she was too beautiful to be a trader at a food market before when the young entrepreneur gained thousands of fans from selling her wares online.

Footage shows the pretty spice seller talking to a buyer with her long, black hair fixed in simple, neat braids. She wore an apron to keep her pink checkered polo from getting soiled when she handled the root crops.

Janejira said: ‘I love what I'm doing so I smile from my heart while selling galangal. I think that smile makes me beautiful.'

Janejira handled every aspect of her business independently, from purchasing galangal and ginger directly from farmers to packaging them into bags, and making the 90-mile round trip every day.

While business is booming from loyal fans and customers who order up to 400kg from her in advance, many brands are starting to scout her for modelling offers.

She said: ‘I encountered challenges as I was just starting and lacked an established customer base. But my customers like my demenour and now brands ask me to review their products.'

Janejira said she likes trading more than being a model known only for her appearance.

She said: ‘I have turned down product review opportunities from various brands because it conflicted with my business schedule. I love selling galangal more.

'Sometimes I get lewd messages from perverts. I chose to ignore them. But I hope they will stop because all I really want to do is to focus on my business.'
