Residents carry livestock as super typhoon Doksuri floods village in Philippines
Residents carried their livestock to safety as Super Typhoon Doksuri flooded their village in the Philippines this morning (July 25).
Footage shows locals evacuating with their squealing pigs, walking across knee-deep water swamping Sicsican Village in Puerto Princesa City, Palawan province.
The Palawan provincial disaster office said they were monitoring the situation as the typhoon approaches the country.
Philippine weather agency PAGASA said Typhoon Doksuri, known in the country as "Egay", had been bringing scattered rainstorms while enhancing the southwest monsoon but it intensified overnight into a super typhoon.
The state weather bureau said in an 8 am update today: "A short window of a high favorable environment in the near term will allow Egay to either maintain its intensity in the next 12 hours or slightly intensify".
Forecasters said the super typhoon could touch down in the Cagayan province area on the northern island of Luzon between July 25 and 26.
