A river swollen from Super Typhoon Doksuri rains surged under a steel bridge in the Philippines.

Footage shows the Cagayan River overflowing and nearly reaching bridge height in Aparri Town, Cagayan province, on July 26.

The Amulung Municipality Local Government said the bridge has been closed to all vehicles today for safety.

The typhoon, known as Egay in the Philippines, battered the country but weakened slightly overnight and is now the equivalent of a Category 3 hurricane on the Saffir-Simpson scale, losing its super typhoon status on July 26.

It made landfall in Aparri Town, Cagayan province in the northern part of the country some 360 miles from the capital Manila at 3:10 am on July 26, state weather agency PAGASA said.

Forecasters now expect the storm to track northwest towards Taiwan and China, with landfall possible in eastern Guangdong or the Fujian on the Chinese mainland.
