A cheetah searching for food in a village in south India fell down a well and became trapped, leading to a 12 hour rescue operation.

The well, located in Sathyamangalam, Tamil Nadu state, was 40 feet deep and the cheetah was unable to climb out of it after falling. Local farmers found the cheetah on July 21st and called their local forest department for help.

The officers came and lured the cheetah into a special cage using a goat as bait. The cheetah was successfully airlifted out in the cage after around four hours of struggle, with both animals unharmed.

It has since been released back into the jungle.

A cheetah that was searching for  food in the early hours of the day entered a village and fell into the well that has no walls. The well was 40 feet deep and the cheetah was unable to climb up. Farmers who started their farming works in the farms and they heard a weird noise inside the well. They rushed to the spot and to their surprise they saw a cheetah inside. They immediately informed the forest officials. 
They rushed to the spot along with the vets and they tied a goat inside the cage and sent it down inside the well. The animal entered the cage to hunt the goat down later the animal was airlifted  after 4 hours of struggle. It was taken into the deep woods and was released.
