A dramatic rescue operation unfolded near Comodoro Rivadavia, Argentina, on July 22, 2023, when a 33-year-old man fell seriously ill on board the Argentine-flagged fishing vessel Marianela. He experienced severe abdominal pain and numbness in his arms and legs, requiring urgent medical attention. The vessel's captain contacted the Comodoro Rivadavia Coastal Station to report the crew member's condition, prompting a radio consultation with a medical team. Specialized troops from the Argentine Naval Prefecture swiftly organized the air evacuation of the man, who was sailing more than 230 kilometers from the coast.

A plane and a helicopter from the Argentine Naval Prefecture, equipped with highly trained personnel, were immediately dispatched to the vessel's location. The aircraft positioned itself over the ship, and a sanitary basket was lowered to hoist the crew member, providing initial medical care on board. On the ground, an ambulance was coordinated at Trelew airport to transfer the man to a local hospital for further treatment and better care. Thanks to the swift response and coordination of the emergency services, the man received the necessary medical attention and was safely evacuated from the fishing boat.
