Coast Guard Rescues 2 From Capsized Boat 4 Miles East of Jekyll Island, GA, USA

Two men were rescued by a Coast Guard Air Station Savannah aircrew after their 16-foot boat capsized in the ocean, located four miles east of Jekyll Island, Georgia, United States on July 23, 2023.
The Charleston Coastguard received a report through 911 dispatch that the boaters were overdue at Jekyll Harbor, and their phones were unreachable. The aircrew launched a helicopter to search for them and found the men waving their arms, one in the water and the other on the capsized boat.
They were hoisted into the helicopter and transported to Jekyll Island Airport for a medical examination, but thankfully, no injuries were reported.
