A curious man landed in a peculiar predicament when he managed to get a light bulb lodged in his mouth, only to discover it was impossible to remove in eastern China.

The video was filmed in the city of Yuyao in Zhejiang Province on July 25.

A flustered man, his face covered, dashed into the Yuyao City Fire and Rescue Brigade, seeking help from the firemen. With a light bulb's base protruding from his mouth, the man desperately tried to express his situation but was unable to articulate his words.

The firefighters calmed the visibly distressed man, and upon closer examination, discovered that the bulb was an LED type, with the glass part snugly fitting in the man's mouth. They understood that any accidental breakage could lead to severe mouth injuries.

Considering the delicate and dangerous nature of the situation, the firemen immediately decided to rush the man to the nearby Yuyao People's Hospital.

According to the doctor, the man, identified as Mr Chen, had the lightbulb stuck in his mouth for over two hours, unable to speak or swallow, with his front teeth tightly gripping the edge of the bulb. Any attempt to bite down could shatter the glass, endangering his internal organs.

After a careful examination, the doctors found that Chen's jaw was dislocated on one side. After widening his oral cavity with a mouth opener, they finally managed to dislodge the lightbulb, much to everyone's relief.

The bizarre ordeal turned out to be a result of Chen's misadventure. After watching a video of someone stuffing a lightbulb in their mouth and being unable to remove it, he decided to validate the claim by inserting a light bulb in his mouth, only to find himself in the same predicament.

The video was provided by local media with permission.
