Lots of people gather by the river to watch the spectacular tidal bore rushing in from afar. Among them, a man stands dangerously close to the water's edge, risking being swept away.

This footage was filmed by Qian Tang in Shaoxin, Zhejiang Province, China, on July 6, 2023.

The Qiantang River tidal bore is most prominent on the 18th day of the eighth lunar month, with additional sightings possible from the first to the fifth day and the fifteenth to the twentieth day of each lunar month. While the tidal bore is a magnificent sight, it poses safety concerns that some individuals may overlook.
