Three people were injured when a storm blew away a tent on a school field in southern Thailand.

The youngsters were holding a school sports festival when strong winds battered the open area in Pattani province on July 26 afternoon.

The gusts picked up a tent left untied next to a stadium, sending it hurtling across the field towards the pupils.

Local media reported that three people were injured, including a 10-year-old girl who suffered head and neck injuries.

The wounded were taken to Pattani Hospital and are now safe, authorities said.
