This footage was filmed and produced 8 July 2023.

Wayne Prevatt, a 65-year-old man from Seville, Ohio, has been arrested by the Volusia County Sheriff's Office on serious felony charges of animal cruelty. The arrest came after four horses were found in a severely neglected state in Seville, Ohio, on July 8, 2023. The condition of two mares, a tan Palomino, and a brown and white paint, was particularly distressing, with their bones visibly protruding due to emaciation. Two other horses in a separate pasture were also slightly underweight.

Upon discovery, the horses were promptly seized by sheriff's deputies with the homeowner's consent. The neglected animals lacked essential medical care, including eye, dental, and hoof care, and suffered from malnutrition. Investigations revealed that the situation had been deteriorating over an extended period, despite the owner's claim of financial hardship.

The horses were taken to an undisclosed facility for veterinary care, but sadly, one mare's injuries were nonrecoverable, leading to euthanization on July 27th.

Wayne Prevatt faces multiple charges, including felony cruelty to animals and unlawful confinement/abandonment of animals, for his alleged mistreatment of the horses.
