Children's epic 400 mile 1980 bike ride from Dewsbury to Newquay recreated 43 years on Cornwall UK

Two friends recreate a childhood journey after a 43 year gap. Back in 1980 Karl Simpson decided to visit his sister Tracey who had left to work in Newquay Cornwall. Karl then 14 years old cycled with his friends and 12 year old siste,r who insisted on coming, on an epic journey from Dewsbury in Yorkshire to Newquay in Cornwall. Against the odds they all made it safely. This time Karl and Andrew Walker made the journey on bike in 6 days. They set goal of £500 for Yorkshire Cancer Research charity, this figure has since achieved £2500 in donations. Now with a large family connection in Newquay a warm welcome met the intrepid duo, Booked into the iconic Headland hotel Karl met two of his nephews employed within.
