A fireworks factory in the town of Sungai Kolok, near the Thai-Malaysian border, exploded, claiming at least 10 lives and leaving more than 100 people wounded.

Governor of Narathiwat, Sanan Phongaksorn, assured the public: "The fire is now under control." Meanwhile, the military has been summoned to aid in the grim rescue and recovery efforts.
