A middle-aged tourist has been arrested for walking around naked in Thai 'Sin City' Pattaya.

The unidentified Danish man was spotted strolling along a beach and rambling about global politics to himself on Saturday morning, July 29.

Police Captain Sonthaya Khonsap of the Pattaya City Police Station said cops received a report about the nude holidaymaker at 6 am and went to the beach to investigate.

They found the bald tourist gesturing to himself while walking along the promenade, with shocked holidaymakers watching him from a distance.

Police Captain Sonthaya said: 'We took him to the station because he was causing a disturbance for other people in the area. We did not want other holidaymakers to be distressed by him.'

Officers said it took 15 minutes to drag the naked tourist to the police station as he kept babbling nonsense and was uncooperative with their requests.

Footage shows the man sitting on the pavement and cursing at the police as they cuffed him. He was heard saying: 'Chop my head off, please!'

He continued: 'F*** you, and f*** the king!' before pleading to 'Let me go to the police!'

Police took him to the Pattaya City Police Station and detained him in a cell, where he carried on shouting.

Sonthaya said: 'Once he was at the station, he was put in a cell until he was sober. Then we released him. He didn't have any identification on him and he had no money to pay a fine. He said he was from Denmark. We still don't know his name or what he was doing, but he promised not to do that again.'

Thailand's current military government has made efforts to clean up Pattaya after it was dubbed the 'sex capital' of the world and a modern-day Sodom and Gomorrah.

However, the entrenched sex industry that attracts holidaymakers from around the world has proved difficult to tame in the once-sleepy coastal city.

A large number of British ex-pats have also set up bars in the sun-drenched resort, which has become an attractive place for pensioners to retire.
