Hope Ampurire, a Ugandan journalist, has said the FISU World University Games underway in China's Chengdu is an amazing experience.

"It is an amazing experience. And I was fortunate enough to catch the opening ceremony. Everyone was very happy and all were excited about it. The dancers, the plays, the songs, the culture dances. It was so exceptional, and I am very happy to be part of this event not just as a journalist, but someone who supports sport, someone who believe in the youth. Because I am still a youth, and sport has given me a big platform. I have enjoyed a lot from it. I can enjoy from this event.
I am looking forward to cuisines and local foods. So there are a lot to expect. Honestly, I'm open-minded, so I just want to see what is on my plate, and I am going to enjoy it."
 
Speaking of the host city, she said Chengdu is a perfect city for the FISU World University Games and expressed her excitement about what she has found there.

"I love beautiful things. I love the city already. The hospitality is so good. People are helping everyone. People are trying to show this and that. If you do not understand things, people are there already to help you. For me, that's something that you don't find in many countries. I feel at home, like being in Uganda. So I'm very certain I can urge all the people in Uganda to come to Chengdu, and enjoy this beautiful city."
