Locals play in boats on flooded road amid typhoon aftermath in the Philippines
This is the lighthearted moment locals played in boats on a road flooded by Super Typhoon Doksuri in the Philippines.
The residents hopped on plastic paddleboats to play a round of aquatic dodgems as houses and streets were inundated by the storm in Laoag City, Ilocos Norte province on July 27.
Resident Jeannie Villa-Natividad said: 'The flood brought by Super Typhoon Egay started to reach our houses at 3 pm. As the water increased, instead of being alarmed, two of our neighbors came out with their improvised boat and started playing.
'Because of them, our other neighbors started to laugh and felt happy despite being flooded.'
Doksuri, known as Egay in the Philippines, battered the country but weakened slightly overnight, losing its super typhoon status on July 26. It battered the country with gale-force winds and heavy rain, killing at least 30, the country's national disaster agency said.
It touched down in Aparri Town, Cagayan province in the northern part of the country some 360 miles from the capital Manila at 3:10 am on July 26, state weather agency PAGASA said.
Chinese media said Doksuri has landed in Jinjiang City in China's southeastern Fujian province on July 28 morning. It is expected to gradually weaken while moving northwest.
