Man rescues family of three from torrential flood using tractor
During heavy floods in Beijing a man saved a trapped family by driving a tractor through the raging water to carry them to safety in its forklift.
Video of the rescue, which took place on July 31st, in Beicheying Village, Fangshan District, shows the area covered by flooding.
A family of three were trapped on a rooftop until the man in the tractor was able to lift them to safety. According to eyewitness Wang Haiming, the man who drove the forklift to save people was named Liu Bing, a local villager.
Wang Haiming said that: "The floods accumulated and descended from the mountains, and the rainfall became stronger and stronger, forming mountain torrents.
"The water was mixed with mud and showed a khaki color. Since 12:00 noon, Beicheying Village has been cut off from water, electricity and internet, making it difficult to get in touch with the outside world.
"The current signal only has two bars, and I can barely make a phone call. It is more difficult to log in to social software. Beicheying Village belongs to the mid-level area, with hills and hills as the main terrain. The village has a population of more than 3,000 people. There is no water or electricity at present, and the problem of food needs to be resolved. "
