Burning ship carrying 3,000 cars towed to temporary location off Dutch coast
The Freemantle Highway has arrived near Schiermonnikoog in the Netherlands.
Footage from August 1 shows the burning ship is now in a temporary location about 16 kilometres north of Ameland and Schiermonnikoog.
At this location, the ship lies below the shipping routes in the North Sea and is more sheltered from the wind. The ship is held in place by two tugs. Eventually, it will have to be towed to a port, but which one this will be is still unknown.
Last Tuesday, a fire broke out on the ship. The ship was carrying nearly 4,000 cars, 498 of which were electric vehicles. Twenty-three people on board were injured and one person died.
