A large python dangling from the roof outside a small clinic was caught in Thailand.

Footage shows half of the 13ft-long sleeping serpent's body - which was thicker than the rescuer's arms - hanging from the small gap of the facility in Rayong province on July 20.

One of the volunteers carefully secured its neck before his colleagues joined in carrying the creature.

It tried to coil around its rescuers' arms and body but was eventually evacuated and released.

One of the rescuers Phubadin Sirivirot said: ‘It was a stormy night when we were called to help. The snake was so big.'

The reticulated python is found throughout Southeast Asia, where they live in forests, swamps, canals and even in cities, causing them to come into conflict with humans. The species is one of the world's largest snakes and can eat humans, cats, dogs, birds, rats and other snakes.
