A wild python was caught curled in a family's washing machine.

Footage shows the serpent being dragged out of the gaps inside the appliance with a catching pole in Chonburi, Thailand on June 23.

The snake climbed up the balcony where it found the machine and slithered into the narrow space just under the soap drawer.

House owner Saiz Naechiya said: ‘My mother saw the python first when she was about to wash the clothes. We don't know how to remove it so we called a rescuer.'

The reticulated python is found throughout Southeast Asia, where they live in forests, swamps, canals and even in cities, causing them to come into conflict with humans. The species is one of the world's largest snakes and can eat humans, cats, dogs, birds, rats and other snakes.
