An inflatable art installation has some visitors jumping for joy - while others feel let down by the £26 ticket price.

The 40m (130ft) long air-filled structure has been erected at Compton Verney art gallery and park near Wellesbourne, Warks.

The Timisien Luminarium is described as a "monumental labyrinthine network of columns, tunnels and pods"."

Visitors can explore 20 colourful domes and pods which were designed by Architects of Air.

A spokesperson said: "The Luminarium is half the size of a rugby pitch and each of the domes immerses people in a unique environment."

"Visitors have the chance to explore the sculpture, experiencing the beauty of light and colour as they move through a dazzling maze of domes, columns and tunnels of the Luminarium."

The installation opened on Monday and runs until

Sunday (6/8).

Visitors paying £26 per adult to experience the installation have given the attraction mixed reviews on its opening day.

One said: "It’s simply wonderful to have such a unique installation open for families and especially children to experience and enjoy."

Meanwhile a mum-of-two said: "Most expensive bouncy castle I’ve ever seen in my life. "

"I know it’s art but it took ten minutes to go round before my kids were bored."

"I worked out it cost me £3.80 a minute for me and my two children. "

"I know they say you can see the rest of the art gallery but we only went to have a go on the Luminarium." "

Compton Verney say the cost for adults to visit the art gallery is £18 with the additional £8 being charged for adults to experience the Luminarium.
