Tourists were caught on camera as they dismantle ancient city gates to dodge 54 yuan (£6) entry fee in Xi'an City in northern China on July 28.

As the rain poured down, two cunning individuals were seen laying their raincoats on the ground and sliding under the ancient city gate after removing the gate's threshold. And as if that wasn't enough, more accomplices were spotted waiting on the side before following suit and crawling through the narrow gap.

The jaw-dropping video has left viewers aghast and the authorities scrambling to react. The local management of the Xi'an City Wall expressed their utter disbelief that someone would resort to such drastic measures just to dodge the modest entry fee.

Reacting promptly to this audacious act, the officials rushed to the scene to investigate.

The video was provided by local media with permission.
