Japan: Typhoon Khanun Pounds Okinawa Causing Damage
At least one person died, and dozens were injured as Typhoon Khanun, locally named Typhoon No. 6, hurtled near the Okinawa islands and southern Kyushu on Wednesday, August 2.
The typhoon left widespread damage to buildings, trees and cars in Okinawa knocking out power for over 200,000 homes.
