Arresting proposal: Man fakes bust to surprise girlfriend with diamond ring
Shane Archie took surprise engagements to a new level in Rock Hill, South Carolina with a plot twist that involved staging his arrest at a birthday party he had secretly planned to be a surprise proposal. The unusual, adrenaline-pumping event was captured in a video that has since sparked interest and amusement among online viewers since it was filmed on July 15.
Archie explained his unconventional proposal strategy: "I didn’t want to propose the traditional way, so I came up with a scheme like I was going to get arrested, but ended up surprising Quitta with the ring. I wanted it to be memorable, exciting, and surprising all at the same time."
The proposal, intended to be a birthday gift, left his fiancée, Shaquitta White, completely taken aback. "Everyone in my family knows that I’m very dramatic when it comes to my kids and my man," said White. "I went through every single emotion there was before he proposed. When I saw him get on his knee to ask me to marry him, my legs gave out. My anxiety was through the roof."
For White, who had been through abusive relationships, this unique proposal signified a new chapter in her life. She expressed, "This was the best birthday gift I could ever get...I will cherish this day for the rest of my life."
