STORYLINE:

Ocean Park Hong Kong held an opening ceremony on Thursday for its new animal habitat "Sloth and Friends Studio."

The new studio features a series of world-renowned paintings reinvented in animal faces using AI technology.

The exhibition offers visitors a rare chance to learn about some of the endangered animal species on the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) Red List and discover the importance of conservation efforts.

SOUNDBITE (Chinese): IVAN WONG, Chief Executive of Ocean Park Corporation
"In this studio, we introduced the concept of an art gallery, along with AI and AR technology, to showcase the precious species listed on the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species to our visitors. Our goal is to inspire visitors to think about what they can do in daily life to slow down the extinction trends of these animals."

The two-toed sloth family and ball pythons are the main hosts for the new studio. The park said visitors can come face to face with the sloth at 3 p.m. every day at the "Greet the Sloth" session, where animal caretakers will share some fun facts about these lovable creatures.

Macaw, kinkajou, and ball python will also appear with their caretakers at designated time slots throughout the day, allowing visitors to learn more about the characteristics of these animals and discover the importance of protecting their habitats in the wild.
