Brookside actress Jennifer Ellison has said she'd return for a revival of the popular British soap.

The actress played Emily Shadwick in the Liverpool-based show between 1998 and 2003.

During a recent appearance on ITV's Good Morning Britain and said she'd "love" to see it make a comeback.

"I think anyone who was involved in it... it holds such a special place in all our hearts, that I couldn't say no."

"I'd feel like I was cheating all the people who'd given me the start in this industry."

"So yeah, I'd love to see it come back, it would be amazing. And there's so many people who would love to see it come back."

The set where Brookside Close was filmed was in a real cul-de-sac of newly-built houses in the Croxteth area of Liverpool.

When the show was axed in November 2003, the set was left and despite attempts at redevelopment over the years it eventually sold at auction in 2008.
