This is the moment a wild monkey sparked chaos when it wandered into a busy airport in Malaysia.

Passengers spotted the wayward animal walking along the beams of a large window inside Terminal 1 of the Kuala Lumpur International Airport on July 29.

Airport staff urged the public to stay calm as a rescue crew were called to the scene.

A team from Malaysia's wildlife authority used a scissor lift to reach the monkey on its perch. The primate was later released back into the wild.

Airport officials said: 'Our furry friend has been saved! Thank you abam Perhilitan for being heroes of the day! This little guy can now go home to his family safely. What an adventure he must have had. Many thanks to the airport team too for staying vigilant and ensuring the safety of passengers throughout the commotion.'
