Landslide accident in Gaurikund on Rudraprayag-Shrikedarnath road, SDRF is running search operation
Late night of 03 August 2023 SDRF received information that landslide is happening near Gaurikund bus stand dat culvert in which some people are feared missing.
On the above information, as per the instructions of Mr. Manikant Mishra, Commandant SDRF, the SDRF rescue team accompanied by Inspector Karan Singh immediately left for the spot in the pitch darkness of the night.
SDRF reached the spot and conducted a search operation in the pitch darkness of the night, but due to continuous rain and falling of stones from the mountain, the search operation had to be stopped.
SDRF rescue team in-charge Inspector Karan Singh told from Sonprayag that the search work is going on continuously at the spot. During the search, three dead bodies are visible, which are being tried to be removed.
This morning again the SDRF team along with the local police and NDRF are conducting searches at the spot and nearby places, in addition to this another SDRF team is also conducting searches at the Kund Barrage.
The people around have expressed the possibility of casualties of 12-13 people in the said incident.
