STORYLINE:
Turkish police detained 17 suspects related to the Islamic State (IS) during a simultaneous operation against the militant group at five addresses in four districts in the city, the NTV television reported on Friday.
The operation came after counter-terror police designated the individuals believed to have connections with the IS and conflicts in Syria and Iraq, according to the report.
The IS has claimed a number of deadly attacks in Türkiye, and the Turkish counter-terrorism units, in response, have been frequently conducting operations against the group.
