The Georgian Defense Forces have joined the liquidation of the consequences of a natural disaster in the Onsk municipality
According to the Ministry of Defense, an engineering and combat battalion of the Eastern Command with special equipment and means has already gone in the direction of Chevy. The death toll from the natural disaster in Shovi has increased to 17 people.
Since this morning, work has resumed in Chevy to eliminate the consequences of a natural disaster, in which the Defense Forces and aviation are involved.
For reference, the landslide in Shovi descended on August 3. By this time 210 people have been evacuated from the disaster zone, 17 have died. In connection with the tragedy in Shovi, August 7 was declared a day of mourning in Georgia.
