Brave man rescues mother and son from fierce waves in southern China
A man saved a mother and her son perilously swept away by the fierce sea waves while taking pictures on the rocky shoreline in southern China.
Video filmed in the city of Quanzhou in Fujian Province on August 7 shows a man jumping into the sea to rescue a drowning woman and her son.
According to Ms Huang, the rescuer's wife, the young boy was initially knocked into the water by a crashing wave, prompting his terrified mother to jump in after him in an attempt to pull him to safety.
However, with the waves surging powerfully, the situation quickly escalated, pulling both of them into deeper, treacherous waters. The mother and son were seen with their heads facing downward.
Ms Huang's husband took immediate action, fearlessly rushing to their aid. Though initially struggling to find footing against the raging sea, he managed to harness the power of the waves to pull the stranded pair to shore.
In an astonishing feat that lasted less than a minute, the brave man saved the day, rescuing the mother and child without injury.
Ms Huang couldn't help but express her pride and admiration for her husband's bravery.
The video was provided by local media with permission.
