Australian Ringneck Parrots (Barnardius zonarius) occur in several forms across Australia. These stunning birds belong to the Port Lincoln race (Barnardius zonarius zonarius), and are found in drier, inland areas. It had been a dry winter in the Coalseam Conservation Park in the Midwest of Western Australia, so there wasn’t much food for the Ringnecks. We found them amongst dead wild oats on an overcast, windy day, eating the few seeds that they found.
