Tow truck crashes into passenger plane at Seattle airport
A tow truck crashed into a passenger plane severely damaging its fuselage at the Seattle-Tacoma International Airport on Tuesday evening.
The Aeromexico Boeing 737-800, registered XA-AMV, was being pulled from the apron when the tug made a sharp left turn, causing it to crash into the aircraft's body.
The collision left a large rip on the fuselage with the truck underneath.
Officials said the plane had arrived from Mexico City on flight AM494 before the accident. The passengers had already disembarked and the jet was being taken to a secure area to park for the night when the accident happened.
Aeromexico said the aircraft would now be assessed before undergoing repairs.
