A charity has rescued 265 migrants in a day and helped 777 of them over the course of just one mission, even saving a pregnant woman who was in labor from the sea.

The first piece of footage shows rescuers from the group helping migrants aboard their vessel from a dinghy at night, while the second clip shows a tiny boat floating low in the water and packed with people risking their lives to cross the Mediterranean Sea.

The third video shows a number of vessels in the water, with some seen packed with migrants. Other images show a speedboat belonging to the Open Arms NGO with migrants on board, smiling after they were rescued from the sea.

Open Arms said in a statement: 'Open Arms has carried out dozens of rescue operations in the past week in an increasingly critical situation in the central Mediterranean.'

'After disembarking 73 rescued individuals in Salerno, Mission 102 aboard the Open Arms set sail again on July 27 towards the central Mediterranean. Our tugboat was joined by our sailboat, Astral, which departed from the Sicilian port of Marsala on the past Monday for a mission of surveillance, observation, and denunciation.'

'On Thursday, the Open Arms crew located and rescued a very precarious wooden vessel carrying 24 people, including six women, nine unaccompanied minors, and a three-year-old child. They were from Eritrea and Ethiopia and had departed from Libya five days earlier, drifting at sea.'
