Water firms in England could be set to owe compensation if found to have underreported sewage spills.

One of the claims is being brought at the Competition Appeal Tribunal (CAT) against Severn Trent Water which supplies much of the water throughout the East and West midlands.

Drone footage today (August 9) captured a sewage works in Attenborough, Nottinghamshire which sits beside one of the county's biggest nature reserves managed by the Nottinghamshire Wildlife Trust.

The river Erewash which passes by the sewage works and supplies much of the reserves fresh water is often subject to sewage spills.
