SOUNDBITE 1 (Turkish): MEHMET GUNAY, President of Turkish University Sports Federation
"It would be good for us to learn about China's experiences. There will presumably be fruitful cooperation.
Apart from this, there may be student exchanges. There may be student-athlete exchanges. There may be joint camps. Or there may be collaborative competitions organized mutually between the two countries."
Gunay also emphasized that the Universiade has shown how much the Turkish and Chinese cultures have in common.
SOUNDBITE 2 (Turkish): MEHMET GUNAY, President of Turkish University Sports Federation
"In some of the art shows and cultural shows held here (in Chengdu), the aspects of the Chinese culture starting from the early ages, including the traditional clothes or handicrafts of the Chinese people, were exhibited."
Gunay believes that the common cultural aspects will contribute to the strengthening cooperation between the two countries.
SOUNDBITE 3 (Turkish): MEHMET GUNAY, President of Turkish University Sports Federation
"Of course, just as we are famous for tile making and calligraphy arts, we have seen that the Chinese also have them. Therefore, we have experienced that we have many common cultures here, and China is a familiar place for us. We can say that we were lucky in that sense."
